"Sonic", also known as The Broken Face, is a character set to appear as the main antagonist in the official overhaul of the 2017 Sonic.eXe creepypasta remake, known as SONIC(.EXE): AWAKENING, created by Alepie. He's an unknown entity who genuinely believes himself to be the real Sonic the Hedgehog, despite numerous flaws in both his appearance and personality, and no past to remember prior to him taking on the role.
The "Hero"
"Sonic's" personality is almost identical to the real deal: energetic, friendly, and easygoing with others. However, there's still something unsettling about him, whether it's the unnatural way he speaks or his uncanny appearance. At times, his behavior slips into something more violent, especially when he's fighting badniks or rivals. He attacks Eggman's robots with a disturbingly brutal enthusiasm, treating them as nothing more than disposable targets. His grip on reality is clearly fragile; he often talks to things that aren't actually there.
Throughout "Sonic's" body, it shows several flaws left behind from poor generation. Though he doesn't consciously notice them, he instinctively shifts and adjusts his posture and movements to hide said deformities, especially around his face. Pointing out these flaws makes him visibly uneasy. To him, everything about his existence feels completely normal and should never be broken.
Appearance

"Sonic's" appearance is a more deformed, darker and grotesque version of the original character. His entire body noticeably has an all grey color scheme, while his face is a little cross-eyed, alongside a mouth on each side of his face that are always curled into a snarky smirk. His limbs are strangely twisted & deformed, specifically the arms, where the number of fingers differ on each side (5 on left, 6 on right). His feet are akin to that of humans, but with toe digits improperly placed on his feet.

While this form hasn't been officially shown yet, the constant is that the "form" is never consistent in appearances, and that each mutation is unique on their own.

- Unlike his initial counterpart and despite popular belief, "Sonic" is not an alternate version of X in any fashion
- On top of that, this version of the character is less outright malicious and more delusional and detached; the latter which makes him dangerous
- "Sonic's" model was made by DarksArtworks and moe_2003x. [1]
- "Sonic" can't transform into Super Sonic or any other of Sonic's transformations.
- In an in-universe setting, Dr. Eggman would know "Sonic" isn't the real deal, but would still fall for the facade with quick glances.
- AWAKENING uses an art style mixture of ALIAN and the 2000s Sonic style.
- "Sonic's" official hashtag is #sonicroleplayclub[2]. He also uses #GreenPeppersOnPizza but it's mainly for his Sonic Legacy version.
- The hastag name is based off a meme, a poster for a club where the only rule is that you can't be Sonic, since the host has already picked him[3].
- Despite characters like Tails and Knuckles appearing, the cast for AWAKENING is said to be more varied than anyone can imagine
