Cait Sith is an entity created by Thomas20021023. A fae creature that inhabits a copy of Sonic Rush, playing games with those who acquire it until they lose and are forcibly brought into the game.
The Game Master[]
The name "Cait Sith" is not the entity's true name, merely one she had appropriated from a codename her prior victims have given her. She can't simply hand out hee real name, after all. For fae such as herself, the name is a thing most precious.
Getting on track though... as stated, she is a fae creature, one who resides within a copy of Sonic Rush. A player of this version of the game would find themselves only able to play as Sonic - after all, Cait Sith herself occupies the spot of Blaze. Once one starts, the games begin.
The games Cait Sith brings her victims into start off rather standard. Time attacks, collection challenges, any number of standard platformer fair. And if you win these games, she will reward you with real, tangible benefits in the real world. A bit of extra money in your bank account, an accident to inconvenience someone you may not like... it's as if the world ever-so-briefly turns around you and you alone. And of course, as one may expect, getting such benefits from simply playing a game can get quite enticing. Addicting, even.
As you play Cait Sith's games more and more, they start becoming more abnormal. Their rules become obscured, and force you to think outside the box. Races where the goal is at the start, and she can loop around the stage while you cannot... hide-and-seek, in which you (not Sonic) have to hide from her... Without slight hints left by prior victims, it can become nigh-impossible to figure out how it works. And if you cannot, you're essentially doomed to lose.
If you ever lose one of Cait Sith's games, your body will be turned to ash and cinders by her black flames, and your soul will be sucked into the world of the game, inhabiting the body of either Sonic or Blaze (depending on your gender). While the victims have developed a community of sorts within the game, this does not change one fact: you are now Cait Sith's plaything, and she can toy with you however she wants.
Appearance[]
Standard form[]
Cait Sith's usual appearance is one mimicking Blaze the Cat. Her fur is usually white - though it can also sometimes be seen as an extremely pale shade of pink - with her tail and ponytail being tipped in black, and her eyes have black sclera, red irises, and golden pupils, the latter two making them seem almost fiery. Her clothes consist of Blaze's usual ensemble, only with the purple of her dress and the pink of her shoes turning black, the dress' pink trim turning white, and her hair tie and forehead gem being a deeper shade of red.
When channeling her black flames, her hands are usually wrapped with them.
True form[]
Cait Sith's rarely-shown true form resembles that of a more realistic white-and-black cat, with red irises and golden pupils just like her Blaze form. Her size is highly variable, from massive enough to match Eggman's boss machines to the size of a regular housecat.
Personality[]
On the surface - and even quite deeply beneath it - Cait Sith is extremely serene and polite. You will find no sharp-toothed demonic grins or frustration over losing a game; instead, what you will see is a much more gentle smile upon someone who actually takes her losses quite well. Her behavior overall can be accurately described as "lady-like" (one could even say "gentlemanly" if not for her presenting as a woman).
This is accentuated by the fact that she has a particular code of conduct she abides by. She will ask you for your name when first interacting with you, and if you give it to her, she - as a fae - technically has free reign to drag you into her world whenever she wants. However, she would never do such an "unfair" thing. She will only claim you if she well and truly earns you, which is to say, if you lose one of her games. However many times you win, she'll take it graciously and await your next session patiently. She knows quite well that humans can't help but desire more.
And on that topic, it should be noted that Cait Sith does well and truly love humans... though that love can manifest in ways unrecognizable as such to us humans. As an inhuman fae, she does not follow the same moral compass as humans do, and sees no difference between a dearly beloved or significant other and a favorite toy. And as she can fix up her "toys" (as in, her victims) whenever she wants, she is quite willing to keep breaking them again and again just to satisfy her curiosity about them.
But of course. Her main driving force in all this is simple insatiable curiosity. She wishes to know everything about humans and humanity, with both the games she plays and her own "play sessions" with trapped victims being meant to satisfy that desire for knowledge. And no matter how many times her victims try to claim that her deeds are evil, she doesn't quite understand what exactly "good" and "bad" mean from a moral standpoint.
The Tale[]
One time, a man named Martin had found that a game card for Sonic Rush had shown up at his doorstep. He always was a fan of Sonic, but his experience with this particular game was always second-hand at best, with him having never found the time to get it for himself. But now, he had the opportunity to play the game for himself.
Putting the game card into his DS, he chose Sonic - the only playable character until a little later into the game - and was greeted... not with the usual introductory cutscene, but with text that appeared to be speaking to him. And it seemingly heard him. That's... not something that was part of the game. What did he just get himself into...?
The being speaking to him introduced itself as Cait Sith, appearing to him as a recolored Blaze and giving a slight bow. It (or perhaps, she?) then asked for Martin's own name, which he - being somewhat familiar with fairy folklore and knowing that giving them your name is a horrible idea - refused to answer. Oddly enough, she was quite courteous about it, being fine with not knowing his name. She simply asked to play a little game with him, offering him a reward if he were to win. Confused as to what sort of reward this game could bring him, he accepted, being brought to a rather simple time attack of Water Palace that he cleared pretty easily, even while getting adjusted to the game's particular mechanics. A bit after winning, he got an email claiming that roughly $500 were sent to his bank account by an anonymous donor.
...that was weird. Free money is free money, but is he getting trolled or was this actually from the game? Modding DS game cards is not at all easy, especially to this extent. Turning the game on again, he asked Cait Sith about it, with her admitting that she was the cause of it. She claimed that in exchange for a successful game, she can give him any number of benefits.
Thus began Martin's journey with the fae entity now living in his DS. Every time he won one of her games, something good happened. When he needed money, a nice chunk would be donated to his account by her. When he felt under the weather, his boss' car broke down, letting him rest easy for the day. Things were going well, and it felt like he was briefly the center of the universe every time he succeeded. He almost forgot what sort of entity he was dealing with... something he would soon receive a grim reminder of.
Cait Sith offered a new game: a game of hide-and-seek in Dead Line. There were all sorts of objects scattered across the level, with Sonic being able to hide behind them. She even swore to not cheat, which definitely shocked him, as that implied she could... though thinking about it, that made sense. He quickly went as far away from either the start or finish of the level as he could, hiding behind a box, and once the countdown was up...
...Cait Sith popped up on his screen, almost jumpscaring him.
The game of hide-and-seek was never with Sonic - it was with Martin, and not knowing that, he just lost. She said that she would get a reward from winning the game as well, and that reward was Martin himself. The last thing Martin saw was an apology for if "the path to (her) world" hurt, before he saw his body light up in black flames and passed out.
Waking up, he found himself in the body of Sonic, surrounded by a bunch of other Sonics and Blazes. "A new one just lost", they said... Such was the beginning of his weird new "afterlife", if he had to guess.
Victims[]
While there are not enough notable (thought of) characters amongst the victims, there is still enough information to be put in its own category.
When a victim is brought into the world, they are given the form of either Sonic (if they're male) or Blaze (if they're female). Once that is done, they are placed in a special isolated space, alongside the other victims, until she chooses to play with them.
The victims, over the time that Cait Sith's games have gone on, have actually developed something of a community. Exploiting the fact that she still rewards their victory even then (though won't accept freedom as a valid prize), they have gradually accumulated enough bits and pieces to build something resembling a town, with homes for every single resident and various other facilities. These facilities use rings gathered from the game's various levels as currency.
While starting off as just Sonic or Blaze, the victims are very much able to change up how they look, typically through various costumes. These allow for what would usually just be countless visual clones of the same two characters to differentiate amongst each other. As silly as the idea of a town populated by countless cosplaying Sonics and Blazes may be, it does ultimately work out, with some even admitting that there is a bit of charm to it.
As far as the games go, they can range from a new perspective on standard level playthroughs, to children's games like tag or hide-and-seek. Sometimes, the victims may even be made to fight each other or Cait Sith herself. Thankfully, for the sake of fairness, the victims are given all the powers of their respective vessel, so they do have an actual fighting chance against the fairy cat and aren't simply going to be curbstomped, at least once they get used to their abilities.
On the topic of combat, it should be noted that Cait Sith's victims have a certain form of immortality. Even if their vessel is destroyed, Cait Sith can simply recreate it and bring them back, and even said soul can be patched up if necessary. While Cait Sith very much has the power to destroy the victims' souls, she never will. After all, that's a waste of a good subject in her eyes. They also technically don't need to eat, drink, or sleep, they won't die if they don't, but it's still rather uncomfortable not to and doing so helps them cling to their humanity.

Potential[]
Powers[]
- Fairy Pyrokinesis: Similarly to Blaze's own pyrokinetic abilities, Cait Sith is capable of producing and manipulating black flames. These flames can vary wildly in their temperature, being anywhere from as hot as a regular flame to the core of a star, and even being cold sometimes. They can also act either like standard mostly-intangible fire or a solid object, being able to form things like solid walls from it. She can also manifest them in the real world, being how she gets rid of a victim's body before pulling their soul into her world. While they are capable of burning even the soul, she generally doesn't do that due to not wanting to waste good subjects... though she does use this to burn off memories of her true name after some time. In her true form, she usually wraps her claws in these flames, as well as spitting them up like fiery hairballs.
- Fourth Wall Awareness: She is well-aware of things going on beyond the screen, as if looking through your webcam or even the screen itself. She could even be aware of you reading this very page. Oh, don't worry, visitor, just keep reading at your leisure.
- Mild Reality Warping: She's capable of slightly influencing various aspects of the real world (or the human world, if you will), even those not the slightest bit connected to her game. It is significantly boosted in her own world, to the point where any games between her and her victims should be utterly unfair... so it's a good thing she doesn't use it when playing such games. This is also how she grants winners of her games their "prizes".
- Name Dominion: As a fae, once she has your name, she essentially has complete dominion over you, being able to do whatever she damn well pleases. However, she doesn't like relying on this to capture her victims, instead preferring her much more "fair" games even if the name is handed to her on a silver platter. She will use it to visit them in their dreams, though.
- Super Speed: Should be obvious enough for a Sonic character that can somewhat keep up with the Blue Blur.
- Transportation: She can go between the various stages of Sonic Rush and the resident space of her victims at will, as well as go in and out of her game remotely.
Weaknesses[]
- Knowing Her True Name: The rules of a fae as far as names are concerned are a two-way street. If you know Cait Sith's real name, you essentially have command over her and could even make her set all of her victims free. This is possibly only temporary, as after some time of letting you have your fun with her as a completely obedient familiar, she will burn your memory of her true name in order to set herself free.
Limitations[]
- While she can enter the real world, while visiting it, her true form is capped at the average size of a wildcat and she can't use her Blaze form, instead using a variety of human forms too great to attach a single one to her.
Trivia[]
- The name "Cait Sith" is derived from a catlike fae creature from Celtic mythology.
- The entity's real name is ■■■■■■■■■■- Whoops. You can't just reveal such a thing, you know?
