The Malware[]
Harvok is a malware developed by a group of hackers in 2001, in that year the game Sonic Adventure 2 would be released, so hackers took advantage of the hype to create a fake website which stole the personal data of those who downloaded the supposed leaked version of the game.
Appearance[]
Harvok resembles a mix of Sonic and Shadow's design, he has an all-black face with two blue eyes, long antenna-like ear, and blue and black shoes. One of his arms is completely deformed and corrupted with the color red, as well as being surrounded by glitches and numbers.
The Incident[]
The year was 2001, the game company SEGA, after its great success released in 1998 entitled Sonic adventure, began production of the sequel to the game, which was called Sonic adventure 2, all sonic fans were already aware of this so there was a thunderous hype surrounding this game, and of course, this opened up possibilities for people with bad intentions to take advantage of this hype.
A group of hackers then decided to create a supposed leaked version of sonic adventure 2, but it was obviously just a hoax to fool the unsuspecting, in that program there was a powerful malware that completely consumed the PC of whoever ran it, the malware completely erased EVERYTHING in the PC system and soon made it stop working, in addition to also stealing all possible information from the user, this malware was nicknamed HARVOK. Then the site segasonic.thehedgehog was created, with a whole interface and design that really looked like something legitimate from SEGA, and there it was, a stylized download button with information about sonic adventure 2, screenshots and artwork by Yuji Uekawa. Everything went just as the hackers wanted, they had already obtained thousands of pieces of personal information from all over the world, until SEGA realized what had happened and immediately took action, taking down the site.
The site had already been taken down, but the malware was still out there. After a while, HARVOK created a kind of artificial intelligence, which began to act in ways outside its programming. Some PCs that were affected by the malware were restored, but even after being fully formatted the PC was still infected with the malware, but its technology prevented antivirus software from detecting it, so the malware lodged itself and hid in the PC's system, after a while the malware developed a new behavior, it began to cause deaths in users, either by seizures due to epilepsy, by extremely disturbing images and recordings that sometimes caused the suicide of those who saw them, or by bursting eardrums with an extremely sharp and loud sound in users' headphones.
The hackers who started it all no longer had control over the malware, so they couldn't do anything to stop it, until the inevitable happened. the malware reached the hackers' PCs as well, almost all of them died, only one of them remained, the one who started the whole idea of creating the malware, the man already knowing about the death of his colleagues isolated himself from everything, locked himself in his room and turned off his computer, he was on top of his bed shaking, until he saw a light coming from his computer, it was HARVOK, with the design that the man himself had created, he stared at the man for a few minutes, until he started to speak:
"you brought me to this world, right? Now, i'll delete you from it."
Then all the lights and electronics in the man's room turned on, the PC started flashing uncontrollably with disturbing images, the lights in the room also started flashing, the TV also flashed with the image of the HARVOK symbol, the speakers in the room emitted a terrible and extremely loud sound, the man desperately tries to leave the room, but the lock on the door was digital, HARVOK managed to break in too and locked it permanently, he was forced to stay there for hours, until he took out a pistol that he had kept in his room, killing himself right there.
The malware continued to spread like a plague, every day it evolved more and more, spreading through messages, links, USB connections, notifications, absolutely everything. It even evolved to spread over invisible networks such as the internet and radio, billions of people had already been affected by the malware, until people remembered that it all started with a supposed SEGA website, so people all over the world outraged by this started rioting in SEGA's buildings, going so far as to destroy one of the buildings, SEGA tried to explain it away by saying that it had no involvement with it, but nothing helped, this went on for a long time, until they finally got what they wanted, SEGA fell.
As always, the malware continued its infestation, killing more and more innocent people, the population was decreasing more and more, this all began to worry the governments of all countries, who entered into an agreement to order the destruction of all electronics in the world, and soon all the internet and radio signals in the world were cut off, leaving the entire planet disconnected.
Since then, this event has been known as the era of digital extermination.
Combat[]
- High speed: Harvok can move extremely fast, and uses this both for combat and to switch as quickly as possible from device to device.
- Dematerialization: Harvok can dematerialize his body, making any blow pass through him but not hit him, but when he uses this he also cannot attack his opponents.
- Pass through walls: using the same power of dematerialization he can also walk through walls, which he can use to create ambushes to catch his enemies by surprise
- Physical strength: his normal body is not that powerful when it comes to physical strength, but when he uses his corrupted arms things change, In addition to being able to corrupt whatever he wants, he also has absurd strength capable of crushing things with ease.
- Codebreaker: if possible, he can invade his opponents' code and completely corrupt it, he has unimaginable intelligence so no code is a problem for him.

- If Harvok abuses the power of his arm too much the corruption of his arm consumes his entire body, causing him to lose control of himself.

- Harvok supports piracy, which caused his rivalry with Piracy Sonic.
- Harvok's biggest battle was when he tried to invade the world of GenesisX. He ended up failing.
