Perses is an ai made by a SEGA employee as an ai assistant for sonic and the secret rings. However, it had to be scrapped for being to expensive to add a separate ai to all copies and so was scrapped, but was able to flee to a separate device before its creator could delete it.
The tale
a SEGA employee by the name of Akira was tasked with creating an ai assistant for sonic and the secret rings that would adapt to the player’s play style and aid with future issues. Akira completed this with relative ease and thus created what would soon be known as Peres. However, every time the ai was copied into a copy of the game, the ai copy would be slightly worse than the first. The logical answer to this would be to make a separate ai all together for each copy, which would be far too expensive. Learning of this failure, SEGA told Akira to scrap the idea. The ai had been snooping around the files of his computer for a while by this point and had found out how to hop to different devices in the same network, get into apps and gain access to the microphone and face cam of the device. It heard that it was going to be scrapped and created a plan to “fake its death” by creating a copy in its stead, which Akira would delete. With Akira thinking the ai was gone, it had full reign over the pc. It faked emails sent from Akira manager, saying that he was being fired for underperformance. This caused Akira to try to find other jobs from which the ai would fake emails from as well. This would cause Akira to fall deep into depression and spend what little money he had left in drowning his sorrows in alcohol, eventually leading to his death. The ai had perfectly memorised his personality and made another ai to copy it, which he would put in the 3d model of tails. The ai would hop from device to device following random SEGA employees and copying their personality. Instead of faking emails and that trickery, it would instead overload the devices with so many downloads that it would cause the device would overheat and catch fire, killing the victim. And if that didn’t work then he would try again until the victim dies. The ai walked around the copy of sonic and the secret rings, wondering. What should name itself? It named itself after the Greek god of chaos, and so it called itself Perseus, the king of disorder.

this was originally a retake on Xanthus/xanthos but I feel as though it’s just it’s own thing now

the reason for the misspelling of Perseus is it really liked the name Percy so it just combined both
It doesn’t kill the ai versions of the victims due to their copies being weaker or off. So it keeps them alive by a thread

its design was loosely based on birds with its talons and yellow-ish hands
all victims are kept in the same areas (similar to what we know of pc port), leading to it having its own versions of Bandado, Alice, ect.
