MEGADRIVE, better known as Rapid, is an EXE created by R3D4CT3DS0N1C. They are a bootleg of Sonic that was created to replicate the original Sonic the Hedgehog universe by a bootleg publisher.
The Bootleg[]
Rapid is a more ambiguous hedgehog who views things differently from others, having an unpredictable sense of recreation then typical Sonics and EXEs, as they don't exactly kill people, but they aren't exactly the cleanest hedgehog in the shed.
Appearance[]
Rapid looks very similar to the Classic Sonic the Hedgehog design, except with key differences. Rapid has a blue-purple fur-tone over straight blue, and their eyes are more lifeless. They have black shadows across their quills and are wearing light grey gloves. Rapid also has red shoes similar to those of Tails's but with red socks and a black stripe to mimic Sonic's shoes.
Personality[]
As stated previously, Rapid's personality is very ambiguous and not much can be deciphered from them besides the fact that they're more of the curious kinda character when it comes to the world around them.
"His" World[]
Rapid has 2 differing sets of lore, so you'll learn the in-universe and real world lore separately.
Real World Lore: Around 1996 after the release of the infamous Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie, The Sonic Franchise was blowing up, having millions of worldwide fans and people who deeply enjoyed it, making their own characters for adventures and designing their own fan games, it seemed like there was no end in sight for this franchise. Then, one day, A Company named ZEGO was fresh out of ideas to keep the company running and was bordering on bankruptcy, until one of the employees showed them Sonic the Hedgehog and how popular it was, so the CEO of ZEGO urged the company to make a mascot like Sonic who was recognizable so they could make money. At first, they wanted to use Sonic's scrapped concept, Feels the Rabbit, to form their mascot, but then they realized that it would've never worked due to Sonic being a Hedgehog, so they decided to stick as close to Sonic as possible, and they created Rapid the Hedgehog.
In-Universe Lore: Currently Unknown, as I wanna make something that won't be generic. But it's safe to say that the way Rapid was brought into the Sonic universe is to remain largely unknown. Rapid is mostly assumed to have come from The Time Stones, but it's unclear if this is the case or if it's just an assumption.
