We need to talk about Tails Sonic is an oddity created by vaporotem and the antagonist of the fanmade comic "We need to talk about Tails", which is a comic based around the fact that in classic Sonic games Tails would always respawn no matter how many times he died.
The Hedgehog[]
Sonic was originally the same as the canon version of the character, but after accidently killing Tails he became extremely paranoid and guilty.
By the end of the comic he has fully gone insane from the paranoia, guilt and repeatedly killing Tails at least 7 time (probably more).
Appearance[]
Same as the canon version, just in the vaporotem's art style.
Story[]

Before the story[]
Right before the events of the first page Sonic and Tails fell into a pitfall trap full of water. Tails, who was exhausted from keeping Sonic above the water offers to fly and find some help, but Sonic, due to his fear of water forces him to fly him out instead. Tails tries to fly but ends up only having enough energy to throw Sonic to safety. Sonic lands, only to hear the sound of Tails crashing. Sonic then looks down and sees Tails body skewered on a bed of spikes.
Beginning of the comic[]
After burying the body Sonic runs into knuckles and gets spooked as he had JUST finished burying Tails. Knuckles asks Sonic if he can borrow Tails for a bit to train him as a second defense for the Master Emerald and Sonic is then shocked to see Tails right behind Knuckles.
Tails asks if he can go with Knuckles and a very nervous and confused Sonic says Tails can go do that and he's just gonna check something before running off at lightning speeds. As he's running towards where he buried Tails he thinks back to the events that caused Tails death and that is wasn't technically HIS fault.
Knuckles training Tails[]
At Angel Island, Knuckles is training Tails (and even gets a bit teary eyed when Tails calls him "sir"), until Tails asks who's guarding the Master Emerald. Knuckles tells Tails that Big the Cat offered out of nowhere to guard it only for Big on his way to a fishing spot. It's then revealed that when "Big" volunteered to watch the Emerald it was actually Rouge in a Big the Cat onesie.
Yep, he's still dead[]
Sonic is running towards where he buried Tails, talking to himself how what's going on make no sense at all since he buried Tails with his own hands. His first thought of what's going on is maybe Tails wasn't dead and dug himself out of the ground with zero memory of what happened, but he throws that idea out as he should have had at least SOME injuries. Sonic thinks maybe all of what happened was just a dream, but nearly as soon as he says that he digs up the still very dead body of Tails.
The beginning of the end[]
Back with Tails, who is watching Knuckles chase Rouge to get his the Master Emerald back. Sonic then approaches Tails, and asks him to tell him what happened yesterday. Tails begins to explain his side of the story before Sonic interrupts him and tells him to stop lying and tell him who he is.
Eventually, Sonic comes to the conclusion that this Tails is a robot build by Eggman to either spy on him or mess with his head, and since Robotnik powers his robots with animals he kills Tails to "Free the animal trapped inside him".
Knuckles gets the Master Emerald back from Rouge and goes to tell Tails that is why he wanted to train Tails to be an extra guardian for the Master Emerald, only to find out Tails "abandoned" him. He leans on the Master Emerald and starts having a second thought on his job as guardian before noticing someone and instinctively punching them. Turns out the person he punched was Mighty, who he asked yesterday to join him for some help. Knuckles tries to explain he had too many things going on and forgot, but a rude comment from Mighty makes them start fighting as the focus switches from Mighty and Knuckles to a puddle of Tails' blood.
Some time later[]
Another Tails approaches Sonic (who is now obviously insane) and says that everyone is getting worried about him, including Eggman, though Eggman is worried because he's bored and wants to start fighting Sonic again. Sonic, sitting on a large (and I mean LARGE) mountain of dirt comments that he hasn't seen Tails for the past 12 hours, but that he wouldn't remember what happened. Sonic asks if Tails would mind helping him with "Something" as it's revealed under all that dirt is at least 7 dead Tails.
