CONTINUED: The Sonic Oddities Wiki

Sonic and the CD is a creepypastacreated by None and released on December 15, 2025. It is None's retake of the original Sonic.exe story. The story begins with Tom receives a package claiming that his best friend Kyle has passed away. Inside the package is a a few things and a strange Sonic CD. When Tom plays the CD, he witnesses various "horrifying" scenes. But by the time he realizes things are not so simple, it is already too late...

The Tale[]

A SCRAY SONIC GAME[]

Well, um, I'm not quite sure how to start, so I'll just tell you my name is Thomas, or you can call me Tom. I like Sonic, but I'm not that fanatical.

This story begins with a package.

I was playing Sonic the Hedgehog 1—my fingers were moving by muscle memory, my eyes glazed over—when the doorbell rang. The crisp, pleasant sound of the doorbell instantly drowned out the game's weak background music. My hand slipped across the controller. I paused the game and opened the door.

A box sat there. No sender address. Too light. Too quiet.

Taped to the top was a note.

I'm sorry, but I have to tell you something. Kyle is dead. I know you won't believe it, but it's true. I hope you can come to his funeral tomorrow. Inside the box are his belongings.
Hope you are well.
—Kyle's Mom

I read it once.

Then again.

Then a third time, slower, as if I stared long enough, the words would rearrange themselves into something kinder.

They didn’t.

Kyle was my best friend in high school. He moved away two years ago, but we never stopped talking. Emails, dumb jokes, late-night arguments about Sonic lore.

My hands were shaking when I brought the box inside.

Inside were Fleetway Sonic comics, their pages bent and yellowed. A Sonic plush—one ear slightly torn, stuffing threatening to spill out. And at the bottom, a CD case.

The Sonic logo was scratched into it with a black marker.

My throat tightened.

I sat on my bed for a long time, holding the plush. It felt heavier than it should have. To distract myself, I flipped through the comics, but the panels blurred together. My eyes kept drifting back to the CD. It keeps catching my eye. Kyle had never mentioned it before.

I put the CD into my computer.

The game launched instantly.

No title screen.

No menu.

Just Green Hill Zone.

I was Tails.

At first, I almost smiled. The colours were right. The checkerboard hills. The trees. But the music—God, the music—was wrong. A slow violin dragged across the air, warped and mournful, like it was being played at a funeral.

As I moved forward, dread crept in.

No enemies.

No rings.

There are tons of bugs in the game. Tails will suddenly lunge forward, freeze, and then jump up abruptly, as if pulled by an invisible thread or punched. All the monitors have been smashed. And I don't know if it's a problem with the colour palette, halfway through the game, the glass turns yellow, and the waterfall has disappeared and even starts becoming blood.

Then I reached the end.

Sonic lay there.

Not blue.

HIS entire body was pitch black and filthy. HIS hair was greasy and matted together, and HIS skin was a sickly green. The blood kept seeping from HIS eye sockets, flowing down his mouth and forming thick, dark red bloodstains.

HE looked dead.

I swallowed.

Maybe it's a Boss fight, I thought.

I moved Tails closer.

And suddenly, “SONIC”’s eyes snapped open.

HIS eyes were unnaturally swollen,  HIS pupils locked onto me, not Tails. HE break thought the 4th wall.

The screen screamed into black and white.

HELLO, NEW FRIEND! DO YOU WANT TO PLAY WITH ME?

My heart was hammering now. My stomach twisted—not fear alone, but a horrible excitement. My finger hovered over the power button.

The world shifted.

Angel Island—sort of. The ground sloped down, then flattened into nothing. Scattered rocks dotted the landscape like broken teeth. The background was nothing but fire. The air shimmered.

I tried to hide behind the rocks. They didn’t work. Their job is to block my way.

Then I heard laughter.

Wet.Gurgling.

“SONIC” dropped down behind Tails, landing so hard the screen shook. The drowning theme from Sonic 1 kicked in, speeding up, faster and faster, stabbing straight into my skull.

I ran.

The glitches made me lost alot momentum. Tails stumbled. Jump inputs lagged. My chest burned like I was the one suffocating.

HE caught him.

HE wrapped one hand around Tails’ throat, then he hurled him away, into a hole filled with fire.

Tails didn’t die instantly.

He burned.

The screen went black.

"TOO SLOW"

Then, the game shows the continue screen.

Tails' head, along with his spinal cord, was pulled out, stuck into a stick, and half-buried in the soil.

I pressed Enter.

Scrap Brain Zone, but darker, rusted.

I was Knuckles now. The zone was so dark, but lightning flashed, briefly revealing shapes in the background that vanished the moment I focused on them.

I kept moving, but then

HE appeared again.

The screen cut to black.

"FIGHT ME"

Sonic 3 boss's theme blared. HE spin dash through me, HE keep hiting Knuckles and knocks him back. But when I tried to hit HIM, HE rebounded me and laughing me, laughing at my futile efforts.

Well, HE still “died” anyway. When he finally “died”, HE exploded like a badnik.

I exhaled, thinking it was over, but...

HE fell from the sky.

HE kicked Knuckles to the ground and beat him mercilessly, again and again and again. Spread his madness. Blood sprayed with every hit, staining the floor. I feel it, I feel the blood sprayed on my face, I touch my face, but nothing on it.

The screen faded.

"I WILL FIND YOU.

LEAD YOU TO MY WORLD.

WILL YOU ACCEPT MY HEAVEN?"

I started feeling sick for some reason.

Now is Dr Robotnik.

A corridor stretched endlessly ahead—smooth grid-like floors, grey-purple walls streaked with grime and blood. Candles burned along the sides, their flames writhing like they were alive. A red curtain hung above, slowly swaying.

The piano music was calm.

Too calm.

Robotnik wouldn’t respond at first. When he finally moved, it wasn’t because of me. He walked on his own, shoulders hunched, breathing heavy.

With each descent, the torch dimmed.

By the third corridor, they burned blue.

“SONIC” appeared.

Robotnik backed away, shaking. His spirit trembled. “SONIC” advanced slowly, dragging one foot, leaving a smear behind him.

When Robotnik hit the wall, the screen went black.

The game crashed.

When my desktop returned, a text file waited for me.

I'm sorry, Tom. I can't take it anymore. That damn CD keeps bothering me; it's everywhere. I can't hurt it no matter what I do. Maybe it's because I played his game. You have to destroy it.  Don't play it. Or you will like me.
—Kyle

Upon seeing this, I immediately tried to eject the CD and stop playing. But my computer kept giving me errors. After several attempts, the screen went black for a while. When the screen returned, all my applications disappeared. Only the executable file from the original CD remained in the middle. Having no other options and not knowing what to do, I opened it.

This time, opening it was a little different. It showed Sonic 1's tile screen, then the Sonic 3 data selector, but only the character I was playing was there, and they were all dead. When I tried to press anything, it just gave me error sounds.

After a while, the screen went black again, and when it returned, it seemed to be the first-person view of Eggman's death scene. Sonic gradually appeared until his face filled the screen, and then he opened his mouth wide. The game crashed again. And error pop-ups and a notebook page kept appearing, the notebook saying "I AM GOD". In the end, my computer crashed.

Yep, all of this looks like the thing that's going to hurt me is just a damn malware.

The game isn't actually that scary. It's just a bit gory.

Maybe it's Kyle's joke.

If you want it, you can contact me.

I'll add more if there's a follow-up, maybe.

A DREAM[]

A dream. I clearly remember many people around me; I can’t move or speak, although their faces all had a black patch; I'm sure they were people I knew. They were crying. We were all around a coffin on the edge of a cliff. After a while, their face turned into Kyle's, and then they rushed at me. They trapped me. Then, the coffin moved, and “SONIC” appeared.

HAVING FUN, THAMAS?

I HOPE SO.

HAPPY TO SEE YOUR FRIEND, HUH?

DON’T WORRY, SOON, WE WILL MEET AGAIN

AND NOW, ENJOY YOUR SWEET SWEET DREAM.”

After HE finished speaking, and then quietly looked at me.

Those people started biting me.

It hurt, it hurt a lot.

I don't know what to do.

I've been staying home alone cause my parents are away on a business trip for a few days.

And I can't go out; I can't drive.

Is there anyone studying psychology who can help me?

THE END[]

I can't take it anymore. It's been three days since that thing happened, but the dream keeps coming back. I'm planning to destroy it; I don't want to just sit here and wait to die.

I tried hammering the CD, throwing it away, but it still didn't work. I felt like I was going crazy. I grabbed some gasoline, poured it on the CD, and lit it.

Flames began to rise all around, the smell of gasoline pungent in the air.

"READY FOR ANOTHER ROUND, THAMAS?" a deep voice came from behind.

I turned around and saw Kyle's Sonic doll, bloody tears streaming from its eye sockets, grinning with an impossible mouth...
